During my time at Scholten & Baijings we have benefited from virtual reality on many occasions. After the migration to the new studio on the Ruysdaelkade I decided to place one VR set in the meeting room to discover how VR could be integrated withing the design process. I rebuild the exact space in Unreal Engine in every tiny detail so it would overlap the real room. Within the Digital space you had the possibility to turn on the lights and to switch between daytime or nighttime to mimic the current lighting situation. We used the space to quickly test new designs by placing them in VR and being able to see the real scale in context of a familiar space with other furniture.
